About Alan…

Dr Alan Jones has over twenty five years of teaching experience in London and Cornwall across a range of subjects.

He is an inspirational trainer who is able to translate his extensive theoretical knowledge into effective, practical classroom strategies.

Alan is an accredited Neuro-Linguistic Programming Trainer and now consults on performance coaching, emotional intelligence, behaviour and motivational issues, peer mentoring, leadership and accelerated learning within both the educational and business communities.

He has been an  Associate Trainer for the University of the First Age and is working on a number of innovative teaching and learning projects including, Aim Higher, E-coaching, Student Leadership, Thinking Schools, Emotional Intelligence Training and EQ-ualise.

As an accredited Edward De Bono Consultant, he is involved in helping schools develop creative thinking skills projects.

He has worked with the Eden Project in Cornwall on the development of their educational philosophy and learning programmes; has been involved in SEAL Transition work in Cornwall through the Parents and Children Together (PACT) programme and is currently developing motivational and emotional intelligence/literacy interventions through the SMILE and Project Magic.

Alan is also the author of many articles and papers on learning and teaching.

Recent experience includes work as a  dissertation tutor for students working towards M.Ed degrees with the College of St Mark and St John (University of Exeter); a tutor on the Teachers Foundation Degree (The Learning Institute) where his focus has been on Behaviour Management and Behaviour for Learning; and impact evaluation work for the Teachers Development Agency within the South West.

    Hi Alan, I was one of the crowd at Clowance on Friday evening and have just checked out this site! Have to say what an inspiration you were and how motivated you made me feel! I’ve just done a masters in Clincal Education and the conversation we had inspired me far more than the course and I’m now going to revisist my education psychology!
    I enjoyed your performance so much and have dusted off my dowser!
    I shall certainly keep an eye on and use your website, I will also recommend it to my team of trainers.

    Many many thanks for your kind words. I am pleased you enjoyed the session and hope that you will at least drop me an email when you’re in Cornwall next so that we can continue the conversations.

  8. Can I simply say what a relief to seek out somebody who actually is aware of what theyre speaking about on the internet. You definitely know find out how to convey a difficulty to gentle and make it important. More people need to learn this and perceive this side of the story.
